Hi guys.

I just got a new toy for folding and I need to know if anyone knows where I can find out how much voltage is safe to put in my new EVGA Superclocked GTS 450. It came at 1.036V and I found a place online that says it can go up to 1.087 in MSI Afterburner but mine will let me go up to 1.162V! That seems like i big difference to me and I don't want to push too too hard but I was hoping for some guidance.

so far this is what I have

reference core=783MHZ shader=1566MHZ mem=1804MHZ V=0.962V
EVGA SC core=882MHZ shader=1764MHZ mem=1900MHZ V=1.036V
OC so far core=970MHZ shader=1940MHZ mem=2000MHZ V=1.137V

any help would be great!!!
Thanks guys!!

As long as the temps are fine, you can run it up at 1.162v without issue.

You're near the ceiling for your core clocks as well as memory clocks already so if you're stable there at 1.137v I'd consider it a victory

This looks like a good enough spot for my question..

I'm new to clocking graphics cards. Using MSI afterburner I can't seem to raise voltage on my 450's? Unlocked the monitoring and voltage control in setup but when I try adjusting it, it just defaults back to stock voltage. What am I missing?

how much are you moving the voltage? If you just move it 0.001-0.003V then it can't make the change. Other then that I'm not really sure. What make of card do you have? And do you have the right version of Afterburner? I though in Yoshi's GTS 450 thread he said something about his card needing a certain version to adjust his voltage. Mine adjusted with version 2.00.

MSI Afterburner version 2.0.0, also have EVGA 450 superclocked... WHQL 260.99 drivers.

Your right I was just trying marginal increases up to this point. I'll have to wait for a WU to finish before I try it again... Any idea what the minimum step/strap is?

I'm not sure.... I did fairly big steps because I was in a hurry
I'm just waiting for my second card to get here and then I will be back at it with both of them. I am running at 950-1950-2000 right now with a clock speed of 1.036V and like yoshi says, as long as you turn the fan up a bit we can max out our voltages and still be safe, just have to keep it cold.

Thanks for the help
I just rechecked and apparently I did raise the voltage a bit.. If stock is 1.050?

I have 3 of them but the one card I've really been playing with I'm really happy with my overclock so far. The other two don't seem to like going this fast but I haven't raised voltages yet.

Current gpuz readings
966/1932/1880 @ 1.0750

I have seen 16,650 PPD with this configuration on P10976 as my highest result so I'm not complaining
